 Dr. Eric Pierre, President |
Dr. Eric Pierre is the
founding president of Pierspective Entraide Humanitaire. He has been a
practicing dentist in Toronto since 1981. A strong believer in bringing
together the Haitian, the Caribbean and the Francophone communities, he has
been a founding member of several community organizations such as the
Confrérie Haitienne de Toronto, the Association Haitienne de Toronto,
the Association Multiculturelle Franco-Ontarienne, The Réseau Culturel
Haitien de Toronto. He has been on the Board of Directors of The Chambre
Economique de l`Ontario and other organizations. Since 1995, Dr.Pierre has been
the representative in Toronto of his native country, Haiti, as Honorary Consul.
He views Pierspective Entraide Humanitaire as an outlet for his philanthropic
energy, a way to reach out to the voiceless and the disenfranchised children of
Haiti. He wishes to sensitize his fellow Ontarians of the plight, the hopes and
dreams of his Haitian compatriots and to impact their lives in s positive and
concrete manner. |
 Antoine Dérose, Vice President |
Antoine Dérose
is a Bilingual Project Consultant for the Centre of Addiction and Mental
Health. He is also a Member of the Board of Governors of Collège
Boréal and President of the Haitian Cultural Network of Toronto.
Previously he has been the Change Your Future Program Coordinator for The
Learning Partnership and a School Board Trustee with the French Language School
Board, for a period of 5 years. He was also the Founding President of the
Haitian Association of Toronto. Mr. Dérose is committed to meeting the
needs of Francophone minority groups living in Toronto. |
 Abner Remy, Secretary |
Joseph Abner
Rémy is an accountant specialized in both manual and computerized
accounting. He has experience in managing credits for cooperatives as well as
small and medium businesses. His educational background includes diplomas from
- l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Montreal,P.Q - le Centre
d'Informatique et de Bureaucratique en liaison avec l'Entreprise, Montreal,
P.Q. He has attended numerous continuing education seminars in - agricultural
accounting ,US AID, Port au Prince, Haiti - management of agricultural credit,
World Bank, Port-au-Prince, Haiiti - management of cooperatives, World Bank,
Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In his spare time, Abner is an avid collector of rare
books and artifacts. |
 Helen Pierre, PR &
Communication |
Helen Pierre has been
teaching since 1976, first with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and
later with the York Catholic District School Board. She is currently teaching
children with specific learning disabilities, as well as teaching Later
Literacy. She is committed to advocating for children in both academic and
social situations. In extending this advocacy she has participated in various
conferences for learning disabilities, equity, and building character
communities. She has coordinated activities for Black History Month at her
school for several years, and was a member of the planning committee for the
Building a World Without Discrimination Symposium at the YCDSB. Mrs. Pierre has
been an active and involved member of Pierspective since its inception,
coordinating toy drives and participating in emergency relief efforts for
Haiti. It is her hope that by taking part in Pierspective's endeavours, we can
make the world a better place. |
